Bury 3 Accrington Stanley 0
by The Boy Holty
Bury eased to their first points of the season today by comfortably seeing off some relegation fodder in the shape of Accrington.
There were a few changes to the team, with Lockwood in for the suspended Cameron, Forrester up front instead of Harrad, and Sinnott replacing the dropped Holden.
It was scrappy at first and the side showed little shape, but when Forrester got on the end of a deep Jones cross he prodded us in front and then there was only going to be one winner. A few minutes later a nasty challenge brought a red card for Accrington's Webber and it wasn't much later that Forrester evaded the challenge of a number of defenders to smash Bury 2-0 in front.
The second half was scrappy with Accrington having occasional attacks but in truth there was very little for Bury to worry about and as the game drew to a close, Marlon Jackson took down a high cross and made it 3-0.
A word about the officials - they were bloody afwul. I think the ref had a random decisions generator on his iPhone as some things he blew for were a bit silly.
A crowd of 3080 was this win and included a typically tiny away following of probably about 300.
So Bury are on track now. We have points and Kevin Blackwell will sleep soundly in his bed tonight.
