Bury 3 Yeovil Town 2
by The Boy Holty
With seven points from three games, we've hit promotion form. Just hope we don't run out of games . . . oh bugger.
There were a few firsts today. Its the first time this season we've won back to back home games, first time we've managed three in the league all season and the first time since Notts County away last season that a player has scored two in a game. That player was Jonson Clarke-Harris and if we'd had him all season it might have been a different story.
His first was a bit of a comedy effort that trickled over the line, his second a free kick which was drilled through the wall. Nicky Ajose finished well when one-on-one with the keeper and we couldn't believe our eyes, we were 3-0 up.
And all this after Yeovil had had their own comedy goalscoring opportunity after about twenty seconds when somehow their striker found himself with an open goal at his mercy and ended up putting a new dent in the cemy end roof.
Yeovil were never in the game even when James Hayter powered a header past Belchford and when they grabbed a second in injury time there was never any danger of Bury throwing this one away.
That left enough time for a bit of end-of-season silliness brought on by a late challenge on Belford that drew at least four yellow cards and then it was settled. We'll now go and jump back in bed with Rochdale, and Yeovil have a play off semi final against Sheffield United.
