Bury 1 Brentford 1: His Name is a Shop
by The Boy Holty
From the start, Brentford looked like a very decent side and Bury would have their work cut out. The first half was uneventful but it was the away side who had most of the possession and Bury hardly had a shot on goal. We were playing a 4-5-1 formation and it didn't seem to be working with Andy Bishop hard working but ineffective on his own up front.
The second half was very different. Bury came out all guns blazing and took the game to Brentford with some good attacking football.
It was Brentford who scored first though when Bury failed to clear the ball and Mark Carrington, making his debut, tripped a Brentford player in the box and the penalty was duly despatched. It got worse too, as Joe Skarz received his second soft booking of the game and was sent for an early bath, but the Shakers didn't give up and with about ten minutes left, Substitute Lenny John-Lewis thrashed in a shot to level the scores and to leave Bury rightly satisfied with a draw from a tough game.
Efe Sodje has grown a beard and bleached it white. he looks quite ridiculous.
