Matty Foulds about to leave?
by The Boy Holty
In his post-match interview following the Morecambe defeat, David Flitcroft confirmed that a number of Championship and Premier League clubs were looking to acquire the services of Matty Foulds and that the reason he wasn't played against Morecambe was in order to protect him - it was a business decision.
This suggests that he's about to be sold but you have to wonder if it is the best decision, to sell a player for what is sure to be a small fee compared to what he might be worth in a year or two.
Anyway, in the absence of Stewart Day ringing me for my opinion on the subject, it looks like the few appearances he's made in a Bury shirt, will also be his last, which is a shame.
Let's hope we have negotiated a fair fee, and maybe a hefty sell-on clause. We had a 20% sell on clause in David Nugent's transfer to Preston in 2005 and that ended up netting Bury our highest ever transfer revenue when he was sold to Portsmouth for £7,000,000 two years later.
