    by The Boy Holty

Bury put on another excellent away performance on Saturday to make a mockery of The Blades' position as favourites for this league. Goals from Pope, a wonder goal from Riley and an audacious late lob from Leon Clarke represented the reward from an improved second half after a cagey opening 45 minutes. We're now ninth and almost a quarter of our way to avoiding relegation, but with three wins on the bounce confidence is clearly pulsing through this team. We have two home games now (but with the Ramsbottom Festival next weekend I'll not be there on Saturday) and the Shakers have a chance against Port Vale and Coventry to see if they can get a home win chalked off.

We're now 15 away games unbeaten, having not lost on our travels since losing at Cheltenham in February and in league two, a fixture that seems a million miles away now.

    Up the Shakers.
