Bury v Northampton
by The Boy Holty
On Saturday Bury entertain Northampton, and when I say 'entertain' I'm assuming that the Northampton players, management and supporters enjoy seeing their team get a good thrashing.
We've won six out of the last seven (and yes its looking like that loss against Oxford was just a blip) and we're up to fourth, a mere four points behind Wycombe and Shrewsbury. Northampton, after a tremendous run of form when the won eight, drew one and lost one, have faltered of late culminating in a 0-2 home defeat against Carlisle last week so one can only imagine how dreadful a performance that must have been from the home side.
David Flitcroft must be buzzing after seeing his side earn two vital 1-0 away wins since that Oxford hiccup and its results like these that promotion campaigns are built on. He'll have the squad well grounded and ready to carry on with rolled-up sleeves.
The Shakers seem to have hit form at the best time of the season and with just nine games remaining, things are looking up up up.
This weekend's meeting with Northampton and the following match at home to Southend are huge and will go a long way to determining the outcome of the season for Bury.
