Shrewsbury 5 Bury 0
by The Boy Holty
Well known Bury fan Victor Meldrew was heard to comment "I don't believe it!" as Bury were trounced 5-0 at Shrewsbury last night. Its our worst defeat since losing 5-0 to Plymouth in 1995 and to a Beckham inspired Preston earlier the same year. IN fact the last time we lost by a worse scoreline was that infamous 6-0 home thrashing handed out by Huddersfield Town on 1St April 1989.
From what I can gather, Bury were awful. Second to every ball and unable to stop the crosses or to handle Jean Louis Akpa-Akpro. We've now lost our last three away games so perhaps Flitcroft needs to rethink our away strategy. We've got Southend away on Saturday and that will be another defeat if we're not ready for it and set-up in the right way.
Its not all doom and gloom. We're fourth in the league and most of us would have taken that at the start of the season, but we need to know we've got a manager who can rethink his approach if things aren't going well.
