Sheffield United 4 Bury 0.
Following the midweek sale of Ryan Lowe and Damien Mozika, plus the injuries to Steven Schumacher and Mark Hughes, it was a much changed Shakers side that took to the field at Bramall Lane. The home side had most of the possession and chances in the first half, but Bury defended well, occasionally showing some good attacking play, but former Shaker Chris Porter scored for the Blades from close range just before half time after Belford had parried a shot. After the break Sheffield United took control scoring a second when Belford punched the ball into his own net then added two more as it turned into a rout. Bury were outplayed and made far too many basic errors against a much better side. It was Bury's first away defeat since losing at Stockport in February but won't be the last unless we cut out some of the basic errors.
This new look side is going to take time to gel, now the last thing we need is a home game against Rochdale . . .
